NAMI Basics is a no-cost six-session course for parents foster parents grandparents and primary caregivers of children and adolescents who have shown symptoms of a mental health condition. Due to the pandemic, this class will be taught online via computer or smartphone.

Description

NAMI Basics is a no-cost six-session course for parents,foster parents and primary caregivers of adolescents who are exhibiting signs or symptoms of a mental health condition. 

This nationally developed program is made possible by the investment of the Muscatine Health Support Granting Fund. NAMI is partnering with the Muscatine Department of Public Health to promote early detection and treatment for mental health conditions.   

Foster parents are eligible to obtain credit training hours. (2.5 hours for 6 weeks = 15 hours).

If you are interested in attending this class, whether virtual or in person (TBD), please register your information now and a teacher will notify you once the next class is scheduled.

This course is taught by trained parents/caregivers who have similar lived experiences with their own children, allowing families to connect, learn, and empower themselves to overcome new challenges.
